More than a youth basketball program, Papaflessas is dedicated to connecting players to the Hellenic community and fostering pride in their heritage. Outside of practice and tournaments, we host an annual dinner dance with our parent organization, the Messinian Association Papaflessas of Chicago, and provide opportunities for our players to take part in activities that celebrate Greek culture.

Members of the Papaflessas basketball community (both athletes and their families) form deep relationships off the court. This is evidenced in the incredible dedication from parents and volunteers, as well as the fact that our players return year after year: the average Papaflessas athlete participates in our programs for more than eight years. Together with the Messinian Association Papaflessas, we look for ways to support their aspirations, including:

• Working with organizations that provide educational scholarships
• Access to a network of cultural programs
• Financial assistance to families to participate in tournaments
• Special assistance for families in need
• Travel assistance for international opportunities
